Far southwest from Kimitoön, where the sea seems to have no end, lies the Archipelago National Park. Encompassing more than 2,000 islands, the park was designed to protect the archipelago for future generations and life here is thriving. Seabirds nest on rocky islets, seals dive for fish nearby, and even moose can be seen swimming between islands, searching for new meadows to graze. A treat for nature lovers, the park is serviced by ferry operators all year round. There are services and facilities on inhabited islands like Jurmo and more than a dozen hiking and diving trails to explore.
