Ängsö

Angso Ead0038 Angso

The blooming island of Ängsö is in the northern archipelago and was one of Sweden’s first national parks. The island is known for its floral splendour and many visitors come here in the beginning of June to admire the Adam and Eve orchid which is abundant here.

Ängsö has many marked walking trails that make it easy to explore the surroundings. At the Hemudden jetty there is a rest area and a small exhibition about the island’s history and nature.
The island does not have a place to stay the night or buy food. But there are several rest areas and toilets as well as a camping site for tents where you can stay for up to two days.

Regarding the nature reserve

Ängsö is a nature reserve managed by the County Administrative Board.
